About Mike Payne: Mike Payne is a manufacturing leader whose career has bridged the worlds of shop-floor technology, private equity, and precision machining. He began in startup software focused on data collection for manufacturers—experience that sparked a decades-long journey through funding, scaling, and acquiring businesses. In 2018, Mike returned to his roots and acquired Hill Manufacturing & Fabrication, a precision CNC and fabrication shop. Today, he leads digital transformation efforts inside the shop while continuing to invest in manufacturing excellence across the industry.
