As the chief executive officer for the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education, Chancellor Garrett oversees a comprehensive system including 25 state colleges and universities, 11 constituent agencies, and a university center, in addition to coordinating with independent colleges and universities within the state.

Chancellor Garrett brings a wealth of experience from both the higher education sector and the corporate world. Before her current role, she served in senior leadership positions at universities across three states and held significant roles at Walmart Inc. Her extensive background includes serving as vice president and general counsel at Walmart and working for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Garrett is a native of Neosho, Missouri, and holds degrees from Oklahoma Christian University, The University of Tulsa College of Law, and Georgetown University.

In her current role, Garrett leads initiatives related to academic standards, budget allocations, tuition, and strategic planning for Oklahoma's higher education. She also directs 20 statewide scholarship programs, including Oklahoma's Promise, and oversees OneNet, Oklahoma’s premier technology network.
